Outdoor Decorating Ideas for Your Front Porch
“Green thumb” isn’t exactly a term that I (or even my closest family and friends) would EVER use to describe me.
Do I LOVE plants? Absolutely! However, I have a tendency to be a little forgetful, and you know that whole watering thing? Yea… I sometimes forget to do it.
However, in my defense when a task is not right in front of me (or in my daily schedule) it kind of goes out of sight and obviously out of mind as well.
That’s probably why I tend to use the ol’ palm pilot method. You know, pen on the palm. Err… more like pen on the back of my hand, but you know what I mean!
I look like a dag high schooler that’s bored during study hall, and then starts doodling on their hand just to stay awake.
Deep Thought: Do they even have a study hall period/class anymore?!
Anyways, this year I decided to do my entire garden on the front porch, and possibly even on the back porch for the plants that prefer not to be cooked by the scorching North Carolina sun.
Let me start off by saying that Mike (aka Super Talented Hubby) is typically the gardener in this household so when I started buying flower, vegetable, herb, and fruit plants and seeds I might have gotten a little excited.
“Little” being the exaggeration of the century.

As in, I found a bunch of pots, bowls, and other random “plantable” items and just started shoving gardening soil into them. Then, I added my seeds and plants in a manner that probably resembles something my daughter would do.
However, I have to say that I’m beyond tickled how well all of my plants are doing!
I’m hoping that with the plants being in viewing distant throughout the day that I will not forget about them. Somebody cross your toes for me!
{Custom Last Name Sign–in the shop, of course!}
Is it just me, or does it make anybody else completely giddy to see your little green babies growing up like they should be?

I’m probably going to need to add another 15 pots just to accommodate all of my squash, zucchini, and cucumber plants. They’re already growing like crazy!
And if you remember from last week I introduced my newest addition to the front porch… the DIY Flower Planter Dresser! If you have not read this story you will not want to miss out.
It was most definitely an argument every other day between the hubs and I. Mainly his fault.
Obviously π
But a good and silly read. Gotta make lemonade, right?
Hopefully by the time summer rolls around my front porch will be overwhelmed beyond capacity with yummy fruits, veggies, and herbs as well as gorgeous flowers!
