Our Shut the Front Door Upgrade!

Just a few short months ago I was sharing photos of my front door that looked like the below picture.

I was super embarrassed then, but now… wow.. I’m even more mortified seeing the comparison of the before and after sitting side by side to each other.

Yikes!

Isn’t it amazing how much of an impact your front door has on your home?

It’s kind of like the eyes to the soul of your home. It tells a story.

A little deep, but you know what I mean! It’s kind of like a showcase of what to expect for your home.

Is it neat and tidy (most of the time at least!), does it need some TLC, or is it a complete mess?!

Well, for the longest time I can honestly admit that my home was a hot mess. This baby needed a lot of work, and after a year and a half of living here Mike and I are finallyyyy getting a handle on it! This post does include some affiliate links, but they are for your convenience.  I promise! So, it all began on a beautiful morning after we ordered our custom door from Lowe’s, and were pretty sure that it would be arriving that day.

I mean… we were nearly positive, but you know. Anything could technically happen!

Thankfully it all worked out, and they arrived with our beautiful new door right on time. Always a plus πŸ˜‰

Anyways, I’m going to fast forward through all the boring stuff… you know… like putting it up.

Not because I didn’t help, but more along the lines of it’s hard to explain how to do something when you don’t have photos for the entire process.

    Which is the honest truth.

Anybody else do this? You’re so excited about whatever you’re doing that you realize at the end that you didn’t take any pictures?!

    Story of my life.

I’m especially horrible at this particular flaw when we’re on vacation.

    shut-the-front-door-17

I’m so busy drooling over the food, enjoying the company, weather, or whatever, and then all of a sudden… it’s 10 minutes before we’re supposed to leave and I realize that I’ve gotten a whopping five pictures, and

they were taken by Miss Ava, and

they are probably of her toes, the gum on the sidewalk, or I might even get lucky and have one of her with a mouthful of food.

    Maybe.

    If I’m lucky πŸ˜‰

I can only imagine that you’re probably sitting there wondering to yourself how I even manage to get enough pictures for each of my blog posts at this point.

I totally don’t blame you for a single minute!

    It is truly amazing sometimes.

You see, the problem is… I have to get “in the zone” before I do any of these projects.

I’m one of those people that has a hard time focusing on just one thing.

I always have a hundred ideas, projects, and whatnot roaming around in my brain at warp speed at all times so I have to actively turn them all off in order to concentrate on anything else.

Have you been wanting to give your home a gorgeous refresh? Then you'll definitely WANT to check out our Shut the Front Door Upgrade now!

It’s definitely not an easy thing to do, but it’s definitely the only way I can get anything done.

Typically that means I hide my computer, cell phone, and make sure the tv is off as well.

    Then… at last… I can stay focused.

    So… what do you think?!

    Didn’t it turn out great?

Have you been wanting to give your home a gorgeous refresh? Then you'll definitely WANT to check out our Shut the Front Door Upgrade now!

I was a little hesitant getting a door with so many windows, but thankfully they have a tint included (and we live in the middle of nowhere) so the likelihood of anyone seeing in is very slim.
