We've all been there, but have you ever found a remedy to work? Check out this post where I've found 3 ways to provide Hangover Relief with Essential Oils.

Ever since I had my daughter my tolerance for even a glass of wine (not even kidding!) has been horrible. I do enjoy a yummy alcoholic beverage every once in a while, but lately, I’ve had to make sure that I don’t have anything important planned because the next day’s hangover would totally suck.

Hangover Relief with Essential Oils

So, I started searching for new methods to either prevent or relieve a potential hangover, and it’s always the same things (which you obviously need to do):

  • drink plenty of water the night of
  • then, drink more water the next day
  • have a few drinks with electrolytes
  • get enough of sleep, etc.

However, known of these (and many others) have ever made me feel like they were helping. I was at the point where I didn’t even want to have a glass of wine with dinner because of the potential side effects.

Until now!

I’ll tell you what… I know that you’ve probably heard everybody and their mom talking about the amazing benefits of essential oils, and maybe you aren’t convinced yet. But seriously guys…. I am not even kind of kidding when I say that I have found three ways to provide hangover relief with essential oils.

Hangover Relief with Essential Oils

Exhibit #1: Drink the cocktail! Mix up the following:

  • a tall glass of cold water
  • tangerine essential oil (2-3 drops)
  • lemon essential oil (2-3 drops)
  • peppermint essential oil (2-3 drops)

Exhibit #2: Massage it into your skin (I put mine on my wrists).

  • tangerine essential oil (2-3 drops)
  • lemon essential oil (2-3 drops)
  • peppermint essential oil (2-3 drops)

Exhibit #3: Use your diffuser with the following combination:

  • the recommended amount of water for your diffuser
  • tangerine essential oil (2-3 drops)
  • lemon essential oil (2-3 drops)
  • peppermint essential oil (2-3 drops)

So, how do you get peppermint, lemon, and/or tangerine essential oil? You can order it through my Young Living Essential Oil page. It’s also part of the Premium Starter Kit (which comes with two diffusers to handle room odors and/or using the oils for wellness). I bought the Premium Starter Kit a few months ago, and I cannot tell you how impressed I have been. Not only have I been using these products on myself, but my daughter, husband, and the dogs. This post contains some affiliate links.  Click here to read my full disclosure policy.

I’m really not joking when I say that these products have been a lifesaver. Learn more and order yours here!

Lastly, please remember that not all essential oils are created equally. Sure, you might be able to find a better price at Walmart, but I’ll bet ya dollars to donuts that it isn’t pure and probably won’t work either!

Happy Friday 🙂

  1. This is very interesting. I am just curious, do you use the essential oils the same night you have your cocktails, or the morning after? Or both!?

    1. Hi Katie! Honestly, I have never tried it the night of. It’s always been in the morning that I’ve started mixing them up. You could definitely try, but I know that the lemon is used more for assistance with waking up. Personally, I would just suggest lots and lots of water the night of, and then one (or more!) of the examples the morning of 🙂
