Over the years my dislike for photos of myself has increased a little more than I’d like to admit. I’ve become too picky, too shy, and too self-conscious to share any type of vulnerability about myself.
I feared that exposing any flaws would not only reflect badly upon myself, but also reveal the countless weaknesses that I know I can never overcome.
But you know what?
At some point in your life you will need to make a choice. You can either let those fears take over and allow you to fail, or rise up and embrace them.
You’ll then need to stop regretting the mistakes of your past.
Stop wishing that you were blessed with different talents, and being anything but your beautiful and wonderful self.
There will always be a little bit of dark with the light, good with the bad, but that’s just life.
Am I scared out of my mind to take this next step, and open up a piece of me that I rarely let anyone see?
Uh.. duh. Of course I am!
So, with all that being said, I want to start creating more posts that not only encourage myself, but will also encourage you as well to not only be positive (aka. part of my motto!) but also to pursue your dreams, live without regrets, and make every day count.
And I bet you’re wondering where I’m going with this! 😉
With that being said, some of these future posts will incorporate a little more of a creative lifestyle approach (advice, beauty, design, family adventures, and fashion) rather than just decorating and DIY.
One of the ways that I can help us both on this crazy journey that we call life is to partner up/collaborate with other like-minded individuals and brands that not only understand my goals, but have similar ones as well.
For instance, just recently I attended the super amazing, annual Haven Conference (for home decor and DIY bloggers), and while I met a ridiculous amount of wonderful and talented people there was one brand that stuck out in my mind.
That brand was Glamour Farms.
What is Glamour Farms you ask? It is a family owned clothing business founded by Pam and her two daughters, Stephanie and Elizabeth. Not only are they on top of their game, but they’re some of the sweetest people you will ever meet!
Their unique online shopping website includes clothing, accessories, shoes, AND one of the most intriguing (and AWESOME!) aspects is how well their items appeal to a wide range of styles, ages, and shapes/sizes.
I’ve got a little bit of junk in my trunk so I’m definitely a very happy camper that their clothing will fit this little mama’s back end 😉
