You can modify this recipe by adding more or less of each ingredient to fit the number of shrimp you have and your taste.

Crowd-Pleasing, Easy Shrimp Cocktail Recipe

I live in the South, so I have fresh shrimp readily available at all grocery stores and markets, but I am from the North and always made this recipe with frozen shrimp in the past and it works well also (:

Ingredients:

  • Shrimp – this recipe is for approximately 30-35 large or 50+ medium
  • ¼ cup Heinz ketchup (or your favorite)
  • Hot sauce (to your taste)
  • 1 lemon- zest and juice
  • Fresh parsley (a handful)
  • 1 stalk of celery (you can add more, I just like a little)

*If you find this is not enough to cover your shrimp, add more ketchup and hot sauce!

Kitchen utensils:

  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Microplane or Zester
  • Pampered Chef Manual Food Processor (or you can just chop)

First, I leave the tails on the shrimp; you could remove them if you so choose. If you have frozen shrimp, put them in a colander and run cold water over them until all of the ice is gone. Make sure they are well drained and pat them dry with a paper towel.

Using a large bowl, add the ketchup and hot sauce. Next, zest the yellow part of the lemon; be careful not to zest into the white part, it tastes bitter! Add the zest to the bowl. Cut the lemon in half and squeeze the juice into the bowl.

For the parsley and celery, I use my Pampered Chef Manual Food Processor; this thing is a lifesaver and a time saver!! LOVE!! Don’t have one, but want one? Click here.

If you don’t have a food processor of any kind, no big deal!! Just chop up the celery and parsley into very small pieces.  Add those to the bowl and mix together.

Toss the shrimp with the mixture and you have just made Easy Shrimp Cocktail! Bon Appetite!
