I’m so excited to share with you today my holiday home tour! It’s a part of A Very Merry Christmas Home Tour featuring 29 creative bloggers.

Hi friends! I have a confession. **deep breath in and out** I’ve had my house decorated for Christmas for a really long time now. I would dare to say that it probably has been nearly a month since I’ve had all three of my trees up and ready for Santa to bestow his jolly greetings beneath them.

There. I said it.

I’m not sure why I felt so guilty keeping something like that a secret from you, but I did. It. Was. Horrible!

I kind of felt like Dory in Finding Nemo. Remember that part with Bruce, Anchor, and Chum (aka. the sharks), and she admits that she doesn’t think she’s ever eaten a fish? That’s exactly how I feel.

I’m definitely super relieved now that I’ve told you, but in all reality, I’m sure everyone else is looking at me like I’m a crazy person. Which is fine.

So, anyways. I wanted to start showing you my ideas right after Halloween. Yea.. it was really that early!

However, I restrained myself, and just kept decorating.

Well, come on. You know me. I actually decorated, redecorated, and then decorated again because heaven forbid I actually keep anything in the same spot for more than a day or two. Because, come on, that would make sense.

Have I ever told you that my husband owns his own taxidermy shop? I feel like I have, but I’m not sure. Well, here’s a funny tidbit.

When my husband and I met many moons ago I was actually a vegetarian. As in, I hadn’t “slipped up” in eight years. Well, once we got married and had my mini-me (aka. Miss Ava) it was harder and harder to stick with this particular diet of mine. Especially when I started dieting and exercising again to lose the baby weight.

That, my friends, is when I fell off the wagon.

I don’t regret making the decision, but it was definitely a huge lifestyle change.

Then, a few years later Mike retired from the Marine Corps, and decided to become a taxidermist. I swore that I would never allow him to put one of his “stuffed animals” in my home because that was just “icky”.

Needless to say, two years later, and embarrassingly enough, I was the one to actually put good ol’ Leroy up for the holiday season.

Yes–I even named him!

Trust me. I really wanted to go with Comet or Cupid or Donner… but I thought that might be a tad bit insensitive considering the obvious. So, Leroy it was!

Naturally, since I liked to voice this opinion to my husband’s buddies, I heard a lot of smack about Leroy going up in the house. Especially with the scarf on.

Can you believe that? You would think they’d just keep their mouths shut, and act as happy as a clam that I finally changed my mind. But, noooooo… they had to keep pushing the issue.

As Miss Ava says, “Hmppff!”

It’s stuff like that makes me feel not so bad for putting Mike’s dresser on the front porch. Hah!

By the way, aren’t these holiday pillow covers incredible? Pictures just don’t do them any justice at all! Plus, they were only $35 for a set of four of them. Amazingly awesome, right? Now, that’s a steal!
